This group is for GSV members who are interested in sharing ideas and learning from each other with the aim of further developing our skills in using DNA testing along with traditional research and trees to help identify, prove or disprove genealogical relationships.
Participants are expected to have completed the GSV beginner’s DNA classes or have a similar knowledge base.
Aims
To provide opportunities for GSV members to:
- listen, and contribute, to presentations by members on related topics
- share information and expertise about interpreting test results
- explore features at the various testing companies and third-party tools
- learn together and help each other solve DNA-related mysteries and ‘brick walls’
- consider the importance of privacy and informed consent
- enjoy the fellowship of members who have a shared interest in genetic genealogy
